finding skippy out of woodies? ??

Hey lads I'm after some help for catching some good size skippy out of woodies ramp. Keen to try catching different species other than the usual and I'm looking for skippy. Tried the 5 fathom but nothing today. What depth, area, technique etc am I looking for ? Any help appreciated.

Used to be heaps of them out the west end of rotto just outside of the boundry on the lumpy bottom, anchor and burly with pulverised mulie juice and throw them a fly or whatever you fancy.

Skippy

I don't know if it's still there, but there used to be a timber structure off the north eastern corner of Garden Island, that used to be an excellent spot for Skippy, as is the old D9 wreck.

Skippy Sashimi

Wed, 2015-12-30 22:20

Ultra thin slices are the go with skips. Quite a firm flesh. Iv eaten 1 and a half decent sized skippy as sashimi in one sitting, yum. Iv gota try tailor, meant to be good, any fish prob alright, Iv eaten hezzas, whiting, slimey mack as sashimi, all gd.
Wouldnt think the skippy would hang around if theres kings there haha

Try gardies too Tim, they are pretty good also. Less fishy taste for those that are put off by it.
