Fishing between the Narrows and Canning Hwy

Hi Guys,
I have just moved to Como Wa and was wondering if its worth fishing between the two said Bridges, or should i actully go under the bridges. All i've got is blowies so far just off the shore around the water scouts there. Any advice would be great for around that area as i have a 3 yearold boy and older son who i want to teach fishing to. Also any rig setups for that area would be great.

heaps of bream and flathead
heaps of bream and flathead around canning bridge. Up toward the narrows you can get flathead, tailor, mulloway (if you're lucky). ANy fishing in the river is going to be full of blowies. you just got to keep trying and trying to get through them. I never burley in the river as you just get swarmed by blowies, and I've started to just use lures and plastics to avoid them a bit more (having said that, still got plently of blowies on lures, and had tails bitten off plastics) but at least it lasts longer than bait.
Near the como jetty there are some flats that go out aout 50m. never tried, but i'd imagine you'd get flathead and bream along there by wading around and flicking plastics and lures out.
give it a shot and let us know how you go.
