Soapbox Forum
Adam,
Any chance we can have a 'soapbox forum'?
That way all the threads creeping in such as:
'this prick cut me off at the lights'
'arseholes abused me at boat ramp'
'this prick set up next to me on an isolated beach'
'my report only got a few replies'
'woe is me, I posted during the workday and didn't get a heap of gratuitous replies instantly'
'tourists suck, keep away from my town'
'this dog cut through my trolling spread'
etc can all be lumped into one spot and easily avoided by those like me who have no interest in them.
I like reading fishwrecked to see other peoples successes and triumphs, not to be weighed down by their problems or rants. Use your own facebook page for that I reckon.
Then again, who knows, maybe I'm the problem and getting stale, been on here for six and a half years.
#Btw, the irony that this is a rant is not lost on me.

just like FB or other sites we all visit, if you don't like the heading, don't click on.
Some rants are good, as we all know what its like to be cut off, stuck behind a 80klm vehicle, pinged etc
I like reading the good, bad or ugly posts, ugly posts I don't comment on but do admire peoples guts to posts their grips or misfortunes or annoying things that happen when out fishing or launching/retrieving your boat.
We aren't perfect, just humans.

I reckon you've gotta leave it as it is BJ. People whinge when someone starts a footy thread,what's wrong with people talking about their general interests. I like read a good rant and compose them as well when needed. It's good to vent in our line of interest boating, fishing, dickheads at the ramp and on the water. It gives people a heads up on how not to behave and what's accepted. 'Fun Police' was a good one recently.

If only all of us fishos live in kalbarri or exmouth. Then we will be busy posting up fishing stuff.......like some lucky few on here that I see all the time posting up cool stuff all the time,( you know who you are :) )
but reality is we live in perth.....the only good days that I can take the boat out seem to be during the weekdays, week end comes and it blows up a stink.
Also I've spent 6 hours in mandurah walking the flats and ended up with 4 crabs, spent 15 bucks on zman grubs and ended up with 2 little flatties and rest lost to blowies over the Easter break.
So keep me entertained and let me keep reading your rants:)

idea in some cases as it will kill some of the posts people dont care to much for!
The Torana forum i also visit when car related issues pop up have a Shout Bot / Soap box, normal rules still apply but any one, only one at a time can join a running conversation which continues and deletes as it moves on, it can change and people can jump in out of que but its all good fun and good for discussion on the smaller or repeated subjects.
Not sure on whats involved in this adam but pritty popular thats for sure. Ive tryed to add a bit below which didnt make much sence, but if you seen it running its all good.

Not wishing to play 'this site is better than that site' or vice versa, but some of the other fishing forums i frequent have alot more topic/section forums for particular things to be discussed which i find very useful in serching for info, general reading, or killing time when bored.
People say its a Fishing Forum so it should just be fishing, but i guarentee if they have a look at ANY other Fishing Forums they'll see that Fishing is definitly not the only topics discussed. Infact same with alot of other non fishing forums, like 4wding, camping, weather, photgraphy, there will be alot more subjects discussed than what that forum is titled about, even on alot of these other non fishing forums there will be topics for fishing. To me a fishing forum isnt about just fishing, its more about being a Community of peopel who share at least one passion(Fishing of course), but may also share many other passions, hobbies, likes(or hates?), ideals and values. To me Fishing Forums are the modern Fishing Clubs, but intstead of only meeting each other once a month for a club comp or the like, we can meet each other(superficially at least) online when ever we want.
Some Examples of Forum Topics/Section headings i have seen on other forums:
Offical Whinge
Sports(if you are into sports other than fishing?)
Crime(have you had something stolen?)
Commercial Forsale(for site sposers to be seperate from private sales)
Fishing Boats Reviews/Comments/Adivice(Know FW already has this)
Fishing 4wds/vehicles Reviews/Comments/Adivice
Fishing Equipment Reviews/Comments/Adivice
I know FW already has a few different Forum Topics like some of the above but having a few more i think can help to divide up alot more of the topics dicussed that may just fall into General Discussion for example.
Just some ideas is all.

Some good thoughts there buzz, maybe I keep latest content for fishing related stuff and then diversfy underneath with the latest images, latest for sale, then latest general - whinge, crime, sports, shooting etc.
