Half decent areas in Northern suburbs

I live in Northern suburbs / Joondalup.

Where is worth fishing up here ? I have couple 10 ft beach rods, 7ft sea spinning rod and a 7ft light estuary spinner.

I also have a 9ft fly rod. I like a bit of everything.

I'm from abroad and only just starting to get into fishing here. I've so far caugh only a few fish on hols in Jurien (Couple nice tailor - I am hooked on tailor; a port jackson shark (accidentally foul hooked and returned, I love diving with PJ sharks); load of dart on light tackle (exciting); herring)

In Perth I've only had nibbles from tailor at Pinaroo and Beach at North wall Hilarys, but little luck.

I'd also like to fly fish / spin for bream but so far my forays into bream in the River have been met with hoards of blowies - I dropped my pole cam in and saw 20-30 of the b*ggers all around!!!

Hilarys from previous posts seems to be not recommended much ?? The hole at trigg island looks interesting.

Just coarse detail. Don't need your top secret hot spots, just a nudge in the right direction.

Cheers

Burns beach is a good place

Burns beach is a good place to start & is close to you. Tailor, mulloway, small sharks, tarwhine, herring & whiting are all caught pretty regularly from the area. There's a spot about 200m north of the groyne that is popular. Mindarie rock wall is the go if you fancy a bit of that kind of fishing, IMO Hillaries is the worst fishing spot in perth. Trigg blue hole is very popular, too popular for my liking actually. There's plenty of spots along trigg beach that will produce fish regularly. Further north there's yanchep lagoon & club capricorn, both produce tailor & the lagoon is good for herring & whiting as well. Club Capricorn will also produce small sharks & the occasional mulloway.

Hope that helps you out a bit.

It does help indeed, not had much luck around Hilarys.

I take it Pinaroo point up to mulalloo is a bit of a bust too then ?

Burns seems like a fine Idea will give that a crack soon.

Appreciate the advice! I'll let you know how i get on.
