looking at getting a new combo unit lowance hds 7 will be used as a fish finder mostly wat is a fair price and are they any good thanks

if you can afford it go the eight! i bought the seven then upgraded to the eight and it was the best thing i have done! the size difference and the soft keys make it soo much easier to use!

depends if you buy new or not
i just picked up a hds 8 second hand for a grand! but new im not sure probably around 800 difference

I have the 7 and was
I have the 7 and was originally looking at the 5. I use it split screen, standing at the back of my 5.2 I can read the sounder. It's very easy to use.
Highly recommend it.

If money werent a problem or you could find a second hand unit get the 7 touch! Ive had 2x hds 5's linked via ethernet, hds10 gen2, hds 7 touch and now hds12 touch. On all the HDS units except the touch you have to prioritise either gps or sounder, one or the other. Which means its a mad rush of buttons if you want to adjust sensitivity or zoom in on plotter.
Dont get me wrong-Still wins over almost every other unit for same price but after using the touch you won't go back!
