how long is 2 stroke fuel good for?

heading to kalbarri in july will prob take the dinghy. Have a couple litres of fuel from my christmas trip (with 2 stroke oil added), wondering whether its usable or should i ditch it?

Dude, a few litres, a few bucks worth, fresh fuel would be my pick, nuthn worse than foulin plugs on a two stroke, or even worse, it not startin at the ramp.

Octane Rateing

Sun, 2012-05-20 20:16

I did an out board mech course sometime ago and was told that the Octane in the fuel drops off over about six weeks, and as suggested here it is better to put it into your car fuel tank as it would mix wiith other fuel or use it in the lawn mower,if its older than 5 weeks be on the safe side.

Good call Troy I did a spot of gardening today instead of fishing and used some 2 stroke  that was in the shed for nearly a year. Bit smoky but went well

Add it to you car

If you are running a petrol vehicle, just add to your fuel tank when you are towards the bottom of the tank, and top up with fresh fuel at the bowser.
