How to possibly derail a promising season
Submitted by big john on Mon, 2010-05-17 20:33
Just heard a newsflash that Dockers player Michael Johnson is under investigation for a drug related incident on Saturday night.
www.afl.com.au didn't name the drug but GWN reported it as possibly cocaine.
Hopefully just a media beat-up but not good if accurate with regards to things actually going quite well with the dockers so far in 2010.
Edit: story just confirmed on 'On the couch'.

Yep, named as cocaine on Foxsports "On The Couch". They carried the original news on there. Will be interesting to see where this goes.

Michael Johnson
Just received the Membership email from FFC - he has been stood down from all Club activities, training or playing at any level. The Club will support him while he focuses on his legal requirements.
Damn - now we aren't any better than the e-girls, for drugs... Bugger!
This will no doubt take a bit for Freo to deal with - hope they can pull it all together for this weekend!
Save the Whales! May as well - they won't fit in my catch bag!!!

Testing really means bugger all
Players have 3 chances.
Get caught twice then you roll the dice...other than that there is really no issue.
After the 3rd strike you face up to 18 weeks on the sideline plus being named.... not to mention club sanctions etc...
If the AFL are serious about no drugs in the sport, they should adopt a 1 strike policy.
No if's not but's no maybe's..
Get caught once and you don't play AFL again !

It shows the extent of the problem...
Apart from NOT being a Dorkers supporter I have always admired the way Michael Johnson has played his football. This looks like being another example of a very promissing career taking a hammering through selfish behaviour and total lack of respect for his club, his family and his standing in the community.
I see cracks opening up again in the Dockers lineup (on and off the field). Such a shame really as I was really starting to warm to their efforts this year.

Freo had to ring up the eagles to see what they had to do as they weren't overly sure and they put them onto the right track.
