How to remove a busted screw

Sup
I have a Catalina and one of the screws on the side plate is shonkie. It is one that needs an alan key to loosen it but the person who owned it before me seems to have stripped the part that the alan key plugs into and the alan key won’t bite. There is now just a little round hole in the middle of the screw head.
The screw is really thin so drilling it is not an option. What I really need is a way to put a groove in the head so that I can loosen it with a flat head screwdriver.
Peoples thoughts please

Precision Screwdrivers
Buy a cheap set of precision screwdrivers and drive a small flat blade into the hole. That should work.

Use a centre punch on the outside of the screw head and tap it anticlockwise after making a good ding in it.

Easy outs are only any good if you can drill it
If you read the post it does make mention that the screw is too thin to drill properly.
I would suggest either carefully drilling just the head off the screw ( if you can just lift the cover off after that is)
Or if the screw in question is super fine, get hold of a cheap engraving tool.
Use the engraver to cut a straight line on the head of the screw and then carefully use a fine flat blade screwdriver to undo it.

If possible i cut a slot in
If possible i cut a slot in it to use a decent flathead screwdriver. In this case its obviously not possible to use a angle grinder. Depending on the clearance how about cutting a slot with a dremel? It works for me!!
