Hunting Photos. WARNING DEAD ANIMALS

Hi Guys

I know there are few hunters getting about on this forum so i thought i would share a few pictures of my recent hunting trips. All pigs have been caught using dogs.

Some pictures May offend people.

Nice healthy young boar.

Big old fighter. Went 113kg

Another healthy young boar taken from the paddocks.

Ugly ranga pig. By far the ugliest pig i have seen.

Cagey old fighter. Took the dogs about 1km to pull him up.

Another decent fella.

My best set of hooks to date.

The hounds

Cheers Jayce

Do you finish them off with a rifle or do you stick em.

Depends where you got it from

Sun, 2013-08-04 09:18

Depends where you got it from sammy. If its just a forrest pig then good dog meat. If its come from the paddocks then bugger the dogs mate put it in your freezer. You wont go back to shop bought pork after eating it.

My bitch will bay if its a nasty pig. she got a fairly well touched up and spent a couple of months in the sick bay so she is a bit more cautious now. She is only 23kg but.

The 2 dogs at the front of the photo would hold a bull ou to piss but. Not much bail in either of them.

Yeah they are GPS receivers.

Sun, 2013-08-04 13:31

Yeah they are GPS receivers. They run back to handpeice so we know where they are and what they are doing all the time.

TB isnt really a problem over here but a quick check of the vital organs and you can tell.

nice one mate - hauling a +100kg porker out of the forrest with 2 blokes is a great effort. I had enough trouble hauling one that size about 20m onto the back of a ute!

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Jayce,

When you say you got them with dogs what do you mean?  Do the dogs actually chase down and latch onto the healthy pig until you can dispatch it?

Cheers

Yeah that's the one mate. Normally they sniff them out in the bush and catch them. Generally they will just hold onto the pigs ear until we get there.

Love the post man. some nice pigs there.

Haven't been hunting in a long while, used to do a lot of pig hunting with a bow, own a 80lb GT500 with a 31" draw.  That beast will go through anything.

Your dogs are ace.

Keep them posts acoming.

nice catches there mate

I used to go hunting with me dad and uncle when I was in me teens used to use parsons jack russels as a pr and the amount off pigs we caught wit them 2 were unbelievable with these 2 small dogs most other hunters that we knew would just laugh at us for using them but when they came out with us and saw how good they were against there much bigger dogs were amazed so sure doesn't take a big dog to go hunting

I sometimes use one similar on foxs. Often you can whistle them in just with your mouth but dont need to use the little tools. Thats the sound a distressed rabbit makes.

shooting for 35yrs and still have foxes and cats first on the adgenda, and that vid is a beauty.

Took me mate out one night to introduce him to foxing/whisling them up, we started with the 22.250 at the ready,  as it was 200 plus out, then finished it with a sub-sonic 22 as it sat next to the vehicle.

Red lens does it every time, and be bloody quiet.
