Hydraulic Steering failure
Submitted by Subaquatic on Sat, 2013-12-07 17:51
Lost the starboard side motor steering last night on the way home. No movement at all from the wheel but the engine swings free
Port is fine.
I would have thought one master would have driven both slaves.
Any thoughts before I start playing?

cylinder bypassing
sounds like the cylinder is bypassing,

Hydrive.Turned out to be a
Hydrive.
Turned out to be a bypass valve on the starboard side had been flicked open coming off a big wave.
Im assuming this valve is to allow "syncing" of the two outboard. I never even knew it was there.
Aligned the OB's, closed the valve, and bobs your uncle!

sounds like a HSE issue

The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.
