Importing a sounder

hey,
I am looking at importing a sounder from the US looks like it is going to be a bit over a $1000...($1400)just wondering if anyone new the additional import duty cost?

Lowrance makes combo
Lowrance makes combo sounder/GPS units and GPS only units but very few pure sounders.

Hi Skak,
I was going to do the same a while back and did the checks with customs etc.
Because it comes under the umbrella of 'nagivational aid ' I was told that no extra fees were applicable.

Got mine from the USA
Price here $2800. USA price delivered $1400 Australian dollars hows that for savings. No extra costs involved

Importing from USA new sounder any recomendations
HI everyone, Im a long time reader but first time poster.I want to buy a new FCV1150 sounder and 2 transducers from the states but Im a little apprehensive about who to buy from. Any recommendations for good service. Ive been thinking of Marinedeals or Northern Marine.

Almost all the new units are scheduled for Spring (USA Spring)..
The Dragonfly is very unusual...and I think will be good for mostly shallow water of course.
The New Garmin "Baby Chirp" ..7" screen will be out in May.
