Kalbarri Trip April

Took the chivers up to Kalbarri and finally broke the "who-do" on the ol girl.

Trolled on Saturday North to sand patch without success......

Sunday up for the Dawn service and then out, headed South and trolled from Red Bluff to Wagoe, there were another 5/ 6 boats down there with us all trolling. No -one appeared to be hooking up but a few alternated here and there between trolling and bottom fishing.

We had some bait show on the sounder but not alot so after about 4 hrs of trolling decided to find a spot and try a bit of bottom bouncing.

Weather had dropped off and the water glassed off a bit, swell was only about 1m and the sun was out, barometer went from 1013 to 1016, things were looking up. We moved in close (not too close) and left the motor running as the wind picked up the canopy on the boat and we drifted parallel to the cliffs in about 10m of water.

Changed from the lures onto the bottom outfit and lobbed in the tasty little morsel of mulie, ...........

My son hooked up first and got a bream, then right after we were back in the water, the nice colour I was watching on the sounder came on the bite,  "snapper"..... FINALLY, after all this time :)  So we kept a light burley trail going and just worked back and forth.

Managed to get onto a few nice fish and worked our way back stopping here and there along the cliffs each time getting some fish- pike, bream, Snapper, so gotta be happy with that.

Nice to have it slowly coming together. :)

Post pics when I can.

Sounds like fun, looking forward to the pics, fishing along the cliffs would have been nice and the fish a bonus.
