Lead melting Pot

Hi Guys

spent quite a bit of time on the internet looking for a lead melting pot. to no avail.

My mold is taller than the 4" gap most of them have, I the only place to buy them seems to be overseas

where can I get them here.

Anyone have a 2nd hand one?

thanx

Try The Hunters Den in Joondalup. They usually stock the Lee's style.

Op shop

I use a stainless steel boiler from the op shop, and used a ladle to fill the moulds. By far the easiest way and probably the cheapest. A multi ring gas burner is the most efficient and fastest.

The most we have done in one sitting was about 100 kg to make net leads

I got mine from Western Firearms, but i cant find it on their site. You might have to call them to see if they have stock . If not try a gun forum or simular, they use them for making ammo .

It seems to be hard to get them in Australia,

Love the mods to the lee melting pot, may just go that way.

And the gas smelter of grantarctic1 is incredable to say the least, bloody work of art

Yeah

Yeah , I use the gas furnace to melt and clean the lead, then pour into muffin trays. Then i have nice clean ingots for the Lee lead melter. The big furnace takes a while to get going but it holds about 50kg, so i only have to crank it up a coulpe time per year.

I think i paid $160 delivered for the Lee melting pot . I have to say again, not only did it make the whole job easier, it made it a hell of a lot safer too.
