Marron net vs Crab net

So can't really find too much info online or through fisheries but is a marron net just a crab net with a wire base?

Cheers

A marron net has different sized holes in the mesh and the base has the rectangle wire at a certain size for small marron to fall through.

It has to have rectangular base holes for the small ones to fall through. Crab nets are illegal to use for Marron. But a Marron net you can use to catch crabs??
Drop nets
Six per licensed fisher.
Nets must have marron
mesh bases (mesh
dimension must be
32 mm by 80 mm or
greater).
Could get a good picture up on the Net.

Deeper too

Marron drop nets are deeper than crab drop nets

ie the distance between the rings when extended

Maybe just check on where you

Maybe just check on where you plan to go as well Ryan as a lot of areas are now snare only.

Good luck.
