Mercury outboard question

Hey all
I just bought a new boat with a 2006 115hp mercury optimax 2 stroke on the back. I haven't taken it for a spin yet but I've heard from a few people they are the same motor as a 135hp and are detuned and the air intake is restricted.
Is this true and can you open them up a bit more?
Cheers

Andy is correct in that they are 2 completely different engines.
Maybe others have have been confused between the 90 and 115hp ?
I have a 115 Mariner Optimax which is the same as a Merc and so far with over 200hrs on it and completey happy with it's performance.
