Mettams Pool no fishing zone

Just interested to know if anyone knows the boundaries of the exclusion zone, because frankly the buff bream there are just too tempting!

Cheers, Andrew

Hahaif it's buffies you're after there's plenty elsewhere. What has attempted me in the past are the herring, whiting, etc which are a good size. As for the no fishing zone I'm fairly sure it begins in line with the sign that says no fishing (with an arrow pointing south) a couple metres north of the toilet block (easily visible from up in the path). I'm not too sure where the southern boundary is but think it is a fair way to the south of mettams.

Its my local surf spot and the signs cover the area pretty well. if you stay out of the pool itself you should be okay (as in no fishing into it or casting over it). The rocky peninsula to the south is fine and the beach to the north. It's more a case of avoiding the swimmers than it being a sanctuary zone i expect.

i think there is a better map from recollection but the above may help a little.

I just found this by the City of Stirling, but they certainly don't help matters by saying they can alter the times and areas of the exclusion zones

Hope it helps

Yeah that last map is a gem and consistent with the signs. I've seen people shore casting with twistys all along the beach and plenty of tailor sit off the back of the reef judging by the bait scatterings when I'm out on the board. Good luck.
