mulloway madness
Submitted by young_yakker on Wed, 2011-01-05 18:28
two nights before new years i caught this beauty it weighed a staggering 20kg, it wasnt a long fight but with its enormous head shakes i could identify the fish as a mulloway before it breached the murky water. What a feeling seeing a huge fish surface with its gold flanks flashing with the bright light.Back to the story this is my second mulloway and a good size at that what a way to finish a already great year with alot of first's and some nice pb's.
i also caught this on a reel i got for christmas and a rod i bought that day, what a way to cristen a nice combo.
hope everybody has a good new year
cheers Brad.
sorry for bad quality pic as it was off a phone some people took some decent photos but have failed to deliver them.

careful of what??? Im not abusing anyone "its my opinion" or threatning (like you) only wankers are the ones that get all offenceive...
there are people that may work in the didital image industory on this site that may shed a lil light on this (theses) pics.. Thats all im saying. NOT posting about this again so u can say what u like as everyone can have a opinion with out threatning or abuseing everyone that has a opinion that differs from theres.. I realy hope this pics are real, it would be great to not only catch a nice fish as these but to be in company at the time..

That is well edited, to take the background out.. and fair enough too... He puts in the effort and doesnt want people taking his spot.

Photoshopped
Photoshopped.... Paintshop Pro'd... MS Painted ??????
Who cares it's a ripper of a fish and why ban someone for not disclosing where the capture was? If I caught a 20+ kilo dhuie and the pic showed possible location I would possibly do the same.
OH BTW young_y... I recognise those lights

Nice fish, and great stuff on
Nice fish, and great stuff on the catch. On the photoshop comments, I do a fair bit of photography and am pretty familiar with photoshop and what selections look like. The background is photoshopped, entirely around the subject, (black contrast is different, edges look sliced and the fishes fin is deformed by it, and the lighting on the subject and fish don't make sense). The only thing that concerns me of the actual fish/fisherman is the thumb something quite wrong in its dilineation to the fish. This made me look a little further...there is an unusual persistence with blurring of the boundary between the fisherman and fish...almost as if to hide a selection being added. The same can be said for the differntial in the lighting between the fish and fisherman, again, looks to be suss, the lighting on the fish is very centralised as if associated with a flash, while the lighting on the fisherman is very consistent...thats a little odd. Anyway, I can't prove it one way or the other, just add those comments based on my experience with photoshop. I don't think it was done to decieve, it may be just because the photo is off a crappy camera phone, without enough MP to counteract the rigours of photoshop.
Perhaps to clear the air just state exactly what you did with the shot so people understand...i can understand if you wanted to hide the location of your catch...it may be that there was artificial light giving the unusual effect above. Anyway, looks a massive fish, how long was the fight? Was it 20kgs cleaned or dead weight? Well done and a nice PB. Hope to get a Mulla like that one day.

He caught a damn good fish and doesnt want to display the location and if you dont believe him then move on, no worries.
this is all just getting really pathetic.

Well...i'd be willing to put
Well...i'd be willing to put money that I could photoshop a fish like that into a picture and you'd struggle to work it out. You might have failed to notice that I complimented his catch and said I don't think theres a problem with what is shown....the only thing that is pathetic is that you failed to be able to read that from a simple post. I was trying to help point out that even though its a clear photoshop, it looks a legit picture. Won't try and help anyone again on this forum, I assume thats what you are trying to achieve here.
Moral of the story, don't do half a$$ed photoshop jobs without making it clear what you have done to the image. Then there is no arguments, questions or queries.
