I kind of agree with Bodie

I kind of agree with Bodie here.

At least you will know what shortcuts were taken if you do it yourself. Make sure you articulate the risers in the lawn so they don't snap off when someone drives over them in a car.

Not to mention, it will give you something to do when its windy *grin*

I am with Till and Bodie, when I purchased my place I found serious problems with the retic. Shitty cheap flimsy pipe and the layout was just insane, completed by someone having an epileptic seizure on speed me thinks!

Pulled it all up laid my own quality stuff haven't had an issue since but I did seek some advice first

Good luck

 Do it yourself .

You'll get a better job, you'll not take short cuts, and if you do, (take shortcuts) you'll know where they are.

You'll have bits left over for maintenance and if you take a block /area plan in,  most if not all the shops will design it for you so they can sell you the bits.

I (my kids) hire out a petrol turf cutter, that will allow you to cut the grass and roll it up, then when the jobs finished you can roll it back and not have too much of a scar.

PM me if your interested.

DIY

Hello. Many years ago before I became a diy nut I used Total Eden and their install was faultless needless to say that I always but my gear from them nowdays. Steer clear of bunnings because all they sell crapola. I tend to use Rainmaster or Toro gear exclusively because I know its reliable especially after all the hard work and effort that goes into laying your own system. Try to keep all soleniods above ground and close together and be sure to use gel connectors. Use 25mm piping as much as possible as better flow is achieved rather than 20mm.Ray

Whatever you do dont get the cheap 4$ popups you will spend every year servicing them I got 30$ ones  but they cover up to about 12m range single rotating jet spray ? hope that describes it ;) cost per distance is about the same and even if slightly more definatly worth it.
