It's quicker for me
I drive a big slow non turbo diesel so the hills on the inland route slow me down and I get alot better economy on the coast road. During the day it's very scenic, at night lots of Roos, but I still prefer it every time

And I Drive
a fast lightweight ultra reliable rust free petrol 4x4 and In my opinion the coast road is a more leisurely drive up north if your not in a hurry . Nice fish you got there by the way!!!

I thought the roos would be
I thought the roos would be pretty brutal through there!!! I might have ta give it a go next time I do the run down in the daylight ta have a look and get the stopwatch out!!! No over size trucks and road trains to get stuck behind sounds pretty good too.

Caravans
Plenty of caravans Ringy. But good scenery and a few tracks to drive down if you feel the need for a quick reconaisence on the way through
