New to offshore fishing and Perth waters

G'day,

Been reading on this forum for a long time and have gotten a lot of good info off here about land based fishing in Perth, haven't posted before but have read a a lot.

I have recently bought a boat and want to get into some offshore fishing, I have drive mates tinnies in the rivers and creeks but haven't really been offshore at all, except chartets and same with my mates  so I'm looking for someone to come out with me to give me some tips and and stuff around Perth. Not after any spots more so to show me how to use/read my sounder, boat safety, reading weather conditions stuff like that, setting up drifts and stuff.  Just looking to make improve my knowledge and experience,

Send me a message if this sounds like you can help me out, free day out in exchange for answering a million questions.

Cheers Kerry

Sounds like we're in the same situation

There's some great people around with information and advice and if you're lucky you'll get someone to offer to follow them for safety

Depending on the depth and weather we could do that some time too

would love to mate, but in my case it'll be a case of the blind trying to lead the 1 eyed king. I know even less than you.

cheers

Sounds good, but the boat is

Sounds good, but the boat is dry docked until I fix the fuel leak issue, otherwise it might be beers, fishing and a BBQ!

Definately made up my mind to replace the motor. I've called around to all the Marine stores I could find to see if there was any late model etec/optimax/4 strokes in 20" shaft so I could put it on finance but it's dry out there for Long shafts at the dealers

Might have to sweet talk the Wife into letting me buy a new outboard instead of used

It'll be worth the effort in trying to sweet talk her for sure..

Yeah going to stick with a 115. A 90 could do the job but with the weight of the fibreglass i'd probably end up with better fuel economy cruising with the bigger donk

Picked up a spot with someone to get out this arvo so fingers crossed the pinkies are on the bite
