New Reel

Hi All.
Chasing suggestions for a new spinning reel, to run 10kg braid for tailor, salmon, mulloway that sort of stuff, mainly off the beach, but may be called upon to do some light trolling for mackies
I've got a couple of the last USA made Penn 6500 and 7500, but from all reports they don't play as nice with braid as modern reels do.
I was looking at maybe a small Spheros, but open to suggestions.
Cheers.

Hard to go past a saragosa.
Hard to go past a saragosa. 8000 size would do what you want quite well.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

As Dodgy says the saragosa
As Dodgy says the saragosa would be a good choise and is pretty bullet proof ....relatively well sealed but for 10kg braid I would prob only go 6000 size max (if its maily for tailor/salmon) will have no probs for the occasional mul. You should get somewhere around 400m of good 10kg braid on a 6000.
but FWIW I ran braid on my USA SS 9500 for some BIG YFT and plenty of Makkies (Oh and 1 noteable small blue marlin) up north for years. (Mackies are pissweak compared to the good size YFT)

I agree with the 6000/8000,
I agree with the 6000/8000, 8000 is overkill for salmon imo. Maybe a daiwa caldia mag sealed, ive taken mine neck deep in the surf twice and not had a problem with corosion
Fishing and catching are two different things. But i want to learn how to catch.

Depends on the rod you are
Depends on the rod you are pairing it with. The Saragosa 8k is a pretty meaty reel.
If you are looking to throw lures for those species something like a 5000 Stradic is worth a look. Again though depends on the rod
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Good day mate . Have you
Good day mate . Have you already got a rod to use it on ? If so come down with your rod and we can pair you with a reel you would like as well as braid as we do sell per meter for bulk buy. We have a good selection of reel that would work for you. Plus you will get your 10% FW members discount that will help you get a good reel cheaper plus braid . If you also after a rod then we can look at putting together a combo reel rod and braid at a good price less your 10%.
