Ningaloo Top Water October.

This would be our first DIY Top Water Trip to Exmouth.

Location Back Of Ningaloo Reef.

Target Species Giant Trevally.

Conditions were perfect in regards to weather glassing of most afternoons which did cause some issues with the fish going off the bite.

Coming up to the new moon and small swell also was not in our favour.

But we persisted for three days, casting stickbaits and poppers into good loooking water at the back of the reef with humback whales prolific in the area they were a very plesent distraction.

With numerous follow ups from various species of fish but no real aggression to strike did lead to some frustration and hesitant moments.

But when the tide corresponded with a large school of fusiliers and we spotted some G's riding the back of the swell it was on.

Second cast into this area created a huge surface boil twitch Boom and On Solid.

We take turns at driving and casting so once connected we go directly to the deep water to fight the fish.

This GT had other plans and even under heavy drag settings made the stella piss until the fish found its fredom rubbing me off on the nearest bommie six meters of water odds in favour of fish.

Change spool and back in action.

Cast to the same fuzie school on again this fish would make it to the boat for the pictures and release(All recorded on the Gopro).

Summery love the place will be back annually plenty to keep the whole family happy and content.
