Noosa fishing

hi guys visiting sister in brisbane end aug/start sept

staying in noosa for 5 days and might be able to sneak on board a charter one of the days

does anyone have any experience in fishing here or recommend any charters? had a look online but really dont know which ones to trust.

might not be the best time of year compared to warmer months so if its really not worth it im happy to give it a miss.

being from south oz pretty blessed with 10kg reds, SBT and monster kgw but looking for something different more tropical species or those i havent encountered yet ie. mackeral, kingfish, ambers, cobia

some of teh charters look like they catch 2-3kg snapper and perch so really not keen on that.

would prefer lure/plastic fishing and love my light gear.

cheers

if you love your light tackle

if you love your light tackle fishing with plastics & small lures, I'd suggest sticking to the estuary.

I fish Noosa every year & have done for the last decade. If you can hire a kayak or small tinnie, stick to the woods bay or back of the sound. August/sept is a good time for big dusky flathead, big tailor, occassional trevs (gts, brassy & big eye), jacks, bream, whiting etc.

Pack small poppers & halco twistys, 3 & 4" plastics & light jig heads.

It's a healthy system. If you need any further info, feel free to ask, otherwise, have a good time.
