NOR Metro Tailor
I'm still very much on the Perth metro fishing learning curve, and my notable captures so far have been few and far between so thought I may as well share this one, such as it is.
I had planned on heading up to Capricorn for an early morning tailor fish, but ended up hitting the snooze button a few too many times, so by the time I was ready to go it was nearly high tide and I decided to head to my local NOR metro beach (Burns) instead. The last time I caught a tailor there was two years ago, and that was a rat, so my hopes weren't all that high for much more than a pleasant stroll and watching the sun rise.
Tied on a Maria Bull Chop and started walking and casting from the rock groyne heading north. Not much (nothing) happened until just about dead on the high tide and a fair way up the beach when I got smashed a fair way out in some clear water. Quite a few minutes and a lot of 'oh please...oh please..!' later (was only using a 3000 size reel with 12lb line) landed this beauty of a tailor and my PB so far. Fished on for a bit after but was so stoked that I wasn't even really trying anymore so decided to head back in with my prize and knock up some brunch. Went just on 58cm.
