Not fishing related, but it is about to be footy season
This is the last week without football. Personally, I have purple blood and am excited about the coming season. I wish for nothing more than a radio on the boat and perfect fishing weather every second weekend so I can listen to the dockers play the away games while I relax and wet a line at the same time.
Interested to know who everyone else supports and how passionate you all are. doesn't need to be aussie rules, could be league or union or netball. what clour blood runs thru your veins and how proud are you that it does?
Me, I am very proud to be a dockers member (and perhaps, just a little bit crazy!)
Let's see if we can get through this post with only positve coments and no lock out!

My team will win the flag because.....
Freo will when the flag this year because we have recruuited one of the best coaches in the business, we have a promising list with a great mix of experience, quality players and youthful exhurberance. the players will have a higher work ethic and will strive for perfection. In conjuction with the Eagles, Subiaco will again become a house of pain for visiting teams and both WA clubs will enjoy success on the road. My wish for 2012, is to catch a BIG dhuie, and a Derby Grand Final, Dockers vs the Eagles, Dockers to win by a point (perhaps in a replay, just t o make the Vics sit through two weeks of WA teams playing in a Grand Final!)

I am a diehard Dockers member... This is gonna be a great year for our boys! Footy is what gets me through the winter months, and this year I finally succumbed to the foxtel temptation, so they away games will be as good to see as going to our home games!

Mad freo fan since 95. We won't win the flag this year that's for sure. What i'm looking forward to the most is the return of Fox Footy channel, all games live so i can watch whichever ones i want at the right time so no more delayed telecasts which rocks.
Best of luck to both W.A teams as i like seeing the eagles win as well, we all feel a little smug when the two from out west are firmly in the top 8 i'm sure regardless of your legions to either team as it makes those Western Derby matches even better.
Bring on calm weather, good fish and the footy on the ABC this winter!

I love the footy season too -
can't wait for it to kick off, it just shows dosent it - the simple things in life sometimes are the best, dosen't really matter what I'm doing at the time, but to have it on the radio is the best. That is if I'm not at the game. WCE since day one - we wont win the prem yet, but not far of it. Bring on the new stadium, soo long to wait - but it appears i wont get a full membership until then at the rate it's going, been an in the wings member for 6 years.

Eagles Premiers 2012
Yup Defo looking forward to this year. West Coast all the way! I believe the dockers should have got a half decent coach about 10 years ago, but i think freo are gonna be pretty competitive this year and could even be flag favourites in the next 2 to 3 years. Always good when the 2 WA teams are playing well it brings the footy community closer.

Im a proud West Australian though and would like to see the Freo boys do well this year too.

After the past five years I'm not complaining at all last year was my pick though it was the sweetest especially with all the so called experts writing them off at the start of the year.
If they have a good one this year it's a bonus but I'll support them through the good and the bad like I always have all my life that's what it's all about.

Collingwood supporter from waaaayyy back before the extra teams came along and saw no reason to follow the Eagles like a lot of sheep did, but have a small soft spot for the Dockers because have always been a South Fremantle follower since I was a kid.

Hawks all the way mate. Ill be realistic and say that we have a genuine premiership contending team, Freo should aim to make the finals first before anything else. I dont think you will find a team in history that has won a premiership with a coach on his first season with the club, correct me if Im wrong. Im a mad footy fan and I know that hope and anticipation has a lot to do with fans getting excited about whats to be but I dont make unrealistic claims. Should be an interesting season with another club, and again player and coach changes, you never know what has taken place preseason either. Cant wait for round one, Hawks and Pies will be a spiteful match especially after the Hawks exposed the pies in that final which led to a predictable result with Geelong finishing them off. The 2 Sydney teams get a crack at each other, and most of the other games are too hard to predict. I hope to see Richmond continue to improve too. Dont be too sensitve guys, Ill give it to you harder in person, theres nothing like a bit of rivalry and shit stirring....geez I hate Collingwood and their supporters.

Just lookat the image to the left, my boat is also called "Heave Ho" and has the same to anchor emblems, I too have been there from the start and support Soth Freo in the WAFL so natural progression to the Dockers.
