Ocean Whalers

Hi guy's i know this subject has been posted before

But it was some time ago and maybe there is a bit more information around now on these hulls.

Looks like i have a buyer for my other boat (which will be sadly missed, but looks like it will be going to a good home) so i am checking out new hulls.

The ocean whaler has caught my eye and if any one as any info to share on these it would be greatly appreciated.

Good bad or indifferent all info is good info.

Would be looking at the 565 with a 115 e-tec.

Cheers POC

Hi Paul, had the chance to ride in these when I fished with Nomad last year. They have pretty nice soft ride and handled some surprisingly bad water pretty well. My only gripe is that they're a very wet boat but that's to be expected with any center console.

I hear rhey have a very shallow draught you reckon they would go alright as a barra boat?  Might look at a side console............even wetter.

Cheers

I suppose they'd be a pretty sweet boat for the creeks, any glass boat has it's risks in that sorta environment though.

They're supposed to cushion

They're supposed to cushion with that hull design, but they can't clear water very well with the slab sides.

the old boy

my old man has got one (585), and its actually a suprisingly dry, comfy ride, and stability is awesome. my and my 2 fat brothers fish off 1 side no dramas

it does 35 knots WOT, but it takes a little bit to get it there with his 75hp 2 stroke, and i would suggest at least a 100hp to do it justice.
