Out-fished by a 5 Year Old...

I took my young lad out for a quick trip out, of Hilarys, on Saturday to try and get some squid.
He has been out a few times but was not really interested in the fishing. I got him rigged up and left him to practice letting the line out and reeling it back in.
Not much happened to begin with but soon i heard the "daddy, daddy i've got one", and another.... and another.... I thought the large one was going to pull him in.
Anyway the final score 3 - 0 to the young chap... and he's definately looking forward to his next trip out....

Same thing happened to me with my 4yo YRS ago. I was showing him how to catch Whiting in the now gone pool where Mandurah marina now is. Blighter caught whiting after whiting from there and left me for dead. I watched what he was doing and copied it, and law and behold, he innocently found a technique that works when they are shy ( I still use this when they are on the bite, but not aggro enough to "take" the bait).

love it when kids out fish Daddy, hate when I out fish old fart, glad there aren't any kids around hahahahah but the next boat 10klms would have heard him, now your son has the addiction...................fishing or squiding hahahahah
