Check out other sites
Hi Luke,
Welcome to the site. Glad you could join us. As to pricing, your best bet is to check out sites such as Gumtree or Ebay and make an educated guess. My opinion would be in the vicinity of $3000-4000.00 roughly.
270hrs is your plus because a motor that old with that little hours can only mean more dollars for you. Therefore, you could ask for more than what I suggested. The other thing of course, is always put a higher value on it so you can come down, if the buyer is keen.

If its priced right, as
If its priced right, as in cheap, then it will sell.
I have a 225 optimax for sale and have had about 20 people interested in it but the motor is in Carnarvon and the buyers are from perth or over east.
Even tho it has a full mech report and recent service it is hard to sell without seeing it in person.
Someone will want your motor, not everyone can afford the lastest/greatest new fourstrokes etc.

like hens teeth
they go pretty quick, when I was buying my 4 stroke I asked my mechanic if there was any value in them (mine had just less than 300 hours) and was surprised when he said about 3500 or so, I had a few look at it when I had it up for 3500 but It didnt suit most people
either too big or too small or couldnt get anyone to fit it for them, theres always time wasters but it will sell
espescialy now spring is just around the corner

trade it on a Tohatsu
New motor will mean new instruments etc. Always a good idea to renew steering and throttle cables too. You may want to think about hydraulic steering for 3 or 400 bucks extra. Motors like yours sell easy. Most workshops will happily trade them too subject to test. I would do a hot compression test myself first so they dont try to rip you off.
Pm me if you want any more info and or leads.
