Panio wire at Exmouth

Hi guys,

My brother wants to have a go at Marlin this upcoming trip on skirts and im wanting to find out whether to add a short lenght of 140lb panio wire to our leaders to avoid the razor gang or go for broke.

I dread the cost of replacing them. Any knoledge would be appreciated.

hey jim, stick with some 200lb jinkai on ur pushers. DO NOT USE WIRE.. it just cuts the fish to pieces and at the end of the day you want to let them go. If ur worried about the razor gang dont put your lures out until u hit the 50m mark... escapin tackle has some cheap ones and they do work if you are worried about the outlay;) good luck

Hi turboz,

Thanks for info, we have both 200lb/ and 130lb black magic mono traces. I was over 18 months back and wasn't targeting the marlin but did hookup on seven, however they all thew the hook each time.I though we might slow troll livies around with circle hooks. We only do catch and release. Q. does exi have slimie mackeral or simular!

No wire on the leader. Best

No wire on the leader. Best off using a single hook shackle rig with uncoated stainless wire for the hook rig.

Betting

If you're worried about sticking your lures in the water , you may as well leave them home. Its like betting on a horse or at the casino, if you don't or can't afford to lose it, don't put it on.

Just ask Tim, Adam or any of the blokes up there about sticking an expensive lure on and have a wahoo snip it off after 5 minutes, you cannot control whats going to attack it.
