Pinks on plastic

Hi All,

Headed out yesterday to the ffb and after drifting around for half a day with only a good King George to show we decided a bit of a change of tactics was in order so we anchored and started to burley. After about half an hour or so the fishing started to pick up with some nice big skippy and breaksea coming on board. I decided to whack a Squidgy Slick rig on the 6kilo outfit and first cast into the burley trail it was smashed by a good fish and after two smoking runs and heaps of headshaking an nice pink came to the boat. After that i caught another couple and got beaten by some bigger ones that had no interest in coming to the boat.Even my mate who usually just bottom bounces was swiftly asking me to set him up with a soft plastic and it wasnt long before he too got into a couple.

Awesome fun to finally get some metro pinky action..here are some pics.

Hook up.

Nice hair..i mean snapper..lol

cheers,

chris

were you north or south of

were you north or south of the river? We got out on Friday and got into some big skippy NOR, but no pinks came to play. We were on a lump about in about 9meters, outside the reef.

I'm dying to get into the pinkies! Next time I'll have to trot out some plastics!

Its my dream to get into some pinky action on the sps! Watched too many fishing videos of guys doing it lately! I'd be into it if I had a boat! Got a tackle bag full of snapper plastics waiting to be used.. :)

Great work!

I only ever seem to get the odd one on softies, and it's not for lack of trying either! Eddie, he's mentioned the Five Fathom Bank so it'd have to be south of the river...the bank pretty much peters out west/northwest of Garden Island.

What rod is that you're using BTW? Looks like a Lemax Blue Mountain?
