Please Help out a fellow fisherman & woman "Job"
Hi guys,
My Girlfriend Lisa is looking for a full time position in anything. Admin, receptionist, clerical.
She has some seriously good qualifacations. Finished her masters degree in philosophy and english literature, holds a Bachelor of Arts with first class honours - very organised and very smart. She edits all of my articles - is very good with writing and Microsoft Office applications.
This has been an issue, though, as employers all say she is overqualified for these types of jobs and no one will give her a chance to show them how good she is. She's also having trouble getting higher level jobs because she has a lack of experience, having just finished her Masters. She's been looking for sometime now with no luck.
Whoever hires her will definitely not regret giving her a chance. She's a hard worker and very dedicated. It's frustrating because employers presume she'll just leave but she is looking at long term prospects as we would like to buy a house together in the future.

Try modifying the resume to
Try modifying the resume to suit the jobs. Only put in the quals that are relevent. Just an idea that may help

CCC has said it , only put in whats needed.
I went for heaps of jobs with the full resume and when it came to the foreman having a look it was rejected because here was a potential threat to his position. Soon learnt its not what you put in, its what to leave out.

With CCC, i run 2 resumes ATM being unemployed but this is not easy as you cant change your work history. I just try to high light areas of experience towards the role in question. And if i was applying for a position below my experience i would state this in my cover letter as being my preference at this moment.
I had 3 quiet weeks i believe due to the end of financial year period but the calls have started flowing this last week, stick at it, with quals like that a good role wont be far away and before you know it they will all ring at once!! "SEEK"

Cheers guys, yeah she mods the resume to suit the jobs she is applying for.
Forgot to add she has done management. This also maybe something that scares employers. This was something that a manager at my work said

Hi guys, came really close
Hi guys, came really close with one but head office in the USA said they couldnt take on anyone for that role. Had to do it in house.
What to thank him for giving it a good shot for us.
Lisa is keen as ever to get work and will be a great worker, still finding her qualifications are to much yet if we leave it out them that wont help.
Anything admin assistant, publishing would be really good but at this point she will take anything. She will stay loyal to the company , we plan on getting a house in the near future so job security and sticking at the one place is #1 priority
