Point Peron this morning: Small Dinghy- Big Smiles for these young blokes.
Submitted by Moking on Wed, 2017-01-04 15:45
Heading out this morning, I noticed a bit of excitement going on in this small dinghy. Just out from the boat ramp in 2m of shallow sandy water.
Stopped to watch,as one young bloke was hanging onto his bending rod and the dinghy was being dragged around in circles....
I couldn't believe what they caught,so close and in the shallows . Those that know this area will be amused!
The pic says it all and the smiles and ya hooping was great to witness.

Well, that's them buggered
If they weren't already hooked, they are now. The rest of their lives will be spent spending most of their money to buy ever bigger and better boats and gear.
The rest, they will waste

Very true
My first fishing experience in Perth was about 5 years ago. A new found friend invited me to try fishing in Perth for the first time. I didn't have any fishing gear whatsoever. Went to Kmart and spent a "massive" $50 buying a spin combo on special with one of those small tackle boxes that included 100 hooks/sinkers/swivels etc. Walked out of the store thinking I was Rex Hunt! LoL
Anyway, went fishing at Nedlands the next night. My Kmart special hooked something very very big! Took me nearly an hour to reel it in, sitting down every 10 minutes or so, still with rod in hand. I think the reel was a 2500 size. The fish turned out to be a big ray.
After cutting the line, my friend fished for another hour... and during that hour, I was laying on the grass, totally f**ked, with very sore arms and breathing heavily. Haha!
5 years on, I have a decent boat and a very good collection of tackle.
A fish in the hand is worth 10 in the water!

Gee, almost perfect dinghy weather there. Looks like blowing its ares off on the weekend which these days is the only time I'm home. You can keep that dirty old sambo though, I hate the farking things.

Great fun on the light gear
nice going.
i remember back in about year 2000 a very big Yellow Fin Tuna was gaffed from the rock wall in the enclosed launch/retrevial area. So big fish can be in unusual flacks at times.
