Popping for whiting in the Swan River

Anyone had much success with whiting on lures in the Swan? Was wondering if the flats around Como, Applecross or around East Freo are productive at all. Could always just try and find out I guess!

I've tried several times

I've tried several times sightcasting at schools of big whiting and had zero interest on poppers, vibes and shallow divers.

 Im same as Jack, targetted

Im same as Jack, targetted them on the flats between canning bridge and freo and had schools of ginormous fish, in 5-40cm of water not touching lures or bait placed in front of them. I think it is possible, just need the right time, and tide. It appears they feed voraceously on worms and dont seem to recognise the typical prawn/baitfish presentation of  walk the dog style retrieves on poppers as food and ignore them.

Fishing and catching are two different things. But i want to learn how to catch.

I've tried as well during the day. Not keen. I've seen some have success diring the night. I think with strips of squid on a paternoster and a red bead.

That explains why I don't see reports on here about them. Looks like I need to do some Mandurah trips!

I've only managed to get them on small vibes with assist hooks. No interest in the surface stuff.

Have caught a couple  when flathead fishing.

One on a vibe at sunset and one on sinking stickbait early morning.

Like others have seen many more that didn't show any interest.
