Port Hedland boat advice

 Hey guys,

I am heading up to port to live and trying to figure out what is the best boat combo up there for the area. I currently have a Quintrex 420 wide body and 30 Suzuki 2 stroke and trying to figure out whether I should upgrade before heading there.

wanting to fish wherever my boat can take me and can see myself getting both an offshore rig and estuary rig in future as I do both style fishing here in qld ....but looking for advice on what single best rig would be best at moment....

this is my first post on this and looking forward to see what the west brings fishing wise. And any hints on port fishing wise will be appreciated and I will have spots free on boat when I get there if you able to help me out :)

cheers all..

i reckon you've got a good start there, depending on your range you'll be able to explore the coast in the creeks and estauries up there and hit up the channel markers and shallow reefs, Dunno what the big boat scene is like in Hedland and i think you'd have to travel a fair way for any decent reefs and the like, bit like Karratha i'd guess.

4.2 is a good size, I have a 4.2 can get me out far enough to get into some good reef fish and pelagics and get into the creeks, 5.2-5.5 will pretty much cover your bases if looking at only one rig, when are you getting here mate?! Feel free to send me a pm for more info, have lived in Hedland for 25+ years
