Powering my new boat

 Hi fishos

I have a new boat made by oceanic fabrications, 7.5m

It has twin fuel tanks - total 500 ltrs

All up will weigh in at 3.2 - 3.5 ton

I would like any information from other fishos that have a boat similar size and weight

I am looking at 150hp - 175 hp suzuki twins or as low as 140 hp

Do not want to under power it.  Manufacturer is saying max hp is twin 175

Any info will be appreciated

Cheers

Dwayne

I have sent you a pm.

Most of the oceanics have single 250's - 300's. They go fine with a single 250 so either any of those twins will go well. Twin 175's would boogie!

The new 200 yamaha is the same weight as the 175's suzuki haha.... too much power!

Change your header on this thread to Oceanic... and you'll be much more likely to pick up another owner here who can help

Yup I've got one with a single 250hp, couple of guys I know with the same boat either has a 250 or 300

250 is more than enough for what I use it for, goes pretty good with 3or 4 guys fishing etc

twin 175hp would be my choice if I was to ever upgrade

I guess you have to consider the amount of weight you have in your boat while underway etc
