Prawn scooping in the Cut Mandurah
Anyone able to assist
Since returning from Kcity and living within a spit of Bouvard ramp and the Cut always thought I would try this.
Have the boat well and truly lit up with LED decklights, and built an underwater flood light last year to try this, but never got around to it.
Now a few basic I know, Outgoing tide and as dark a night as possible, ie not full moon.
But that's about that.
Anyone on here that can provide some extra help as to where in the cut to anchor up (as the tide rips through there). I was thinking on the inside end.
Also when to start thinking about Prawning (remember someone saying after Easter or ANZAC day, others after the first big rain).
Seems like a nice peaceful way to spend a few hours chilling with a few beers, and ending up with a feed of fresh Mandurah prawns (here's hoping).
Cheers

Great way to spend a night.
Great way to spend a night. We usually anchor just inside of the bridge, in the middle.
They are all over the place when running though, so I dont reckon it matters.

My uncle does it and anchors
My uncle does it and anchors up at the south east end near the big sand patch and reckons on a good night you can walk from boat to boat. I anchored just near there last weekend so the little fella could get into some blowies with the tide ripping in with a stiff breeze and had no anchor drift. We caught a couple of undersized KGW too and a squid too so you may be able to get a nice feed.
