Hi everyone, I had a 21ft Northshore in the late 1990's I used to go out sea from Freo and Hillarys no problem, I sold it when I had a back injury in 1999, 3 years ago I got the bug again, and on an impulse I bought a 4.88 Quintrex sea breeze, I have mostly fished in the river, Walpole, and Mandurah, I am getting the urge to go out from Hillarys again, do any of you here go out from Hillarys in my size boat?
Regards Mal.

I used to go out it in a 4.75 CoastRunner from Hillarys. Plenty of 3 mile snapper fishing and on good days took it out to Direction Bank.

Mines bigger than yours ( maybe)
We got a 495 haines profish , and my thoughts are such.
After many years of boating I noticed most days all the 5m boats go out is the same days the 6m go too, and if you chose days that
really only 6m plus boats go out , are you really going to enjoy it anyway in the rougher conditions.
And too my mind a quality well designed foam filled hull of around 5m , well maintained , running a full electrics and safety package with a
modern fourstroke, skippered by a experienced risk adverse man or women, could be safer than a older poor designed 6m with a rusty /
crusty 2 banger of dubious history, skippered by a risk taker.
If someone told me they wanted fish 30 nm every weekend , I would tell them to buy a 7m razorline or a 6.5m plus glass tank etc , but for
fishing in the metro out to direction on good days , and everything inbetween there are thousands of 4.5m to 5.5m boats out there doing it
safely and putting fish on the table.
