Quick trip

The missus and I took a quick trip up to play deckie for my brother and his family. The idea was to get Narelle a good fish as she had not been on the water for a while. As usual she gets the best fish of the trip, a 91 cm Large Mouth Nannygai (Saddletail Snapper) which I believe overtakes Nikko's record on FW!! We got a few more good Nanny's plus a couple of Cobia to round out a good haul in just a few hours.

Well done that's a great fish, and thanks for the sounder shot. I really like looking at those, maybe one day I'll see some thing like that on my screen

That sounder shot is of a Wonky hole. Notorious for big large Mouths. I can't tell the difference in taste between them and Red Emperor but some say they are even better. Depends who you talk to but either way they are class A eating quality.

Mate I'd like to lodge an official complaint as that's not a fish, it's a horse!

It looks way bigger than 91, probably as it's so solid. Well done to you and your Mrs mate, cracking effort. Guys, for those of you not from up here in NQ, I don't think they get too much bigger. Largemouth record will take some beating, it will be fun trying!

What did it weight Bunny? I agree that they are splendid on a fork, definitely in the top five for me, loving the fingermark we got the other night and you've converted me to the goldspot fan club. If I had to pick which one was best it might take a cookoff and a lot of beers to decide!

Heading to that wreck on Thursday and to some wonkys too possibly, should be fun if they're on the chew.

It was a smidgeon under 10 kilos Nikko. Very solid fish though and a good catch. Still room to beat though with the mid 90s a definite possibility in the next trip or seven...
