Quindalup Boat ramp Dunsborough

Hi Guys,

Heading down to dunsborough this weekend with my 4.8m tinny was wondering if anyone has launched from this boat ramp and if there is anything to look out for around this area?

Also if anyone has had any luck down there would love to here what you have caught and how far out you went etc.

Cheers

Dan

depends on how much sand is on the ramp sometimes you need 4wd.  If its too sandy a couple of k's back up to old dunsborough is the old dunsborough ramp that is concrete but no jetty.  look up point piquet I think its called

boat size you will have to probs plenty of biger boats get launched there

It is shallow out from the ramp but mostly weed beds(squid) from memory just go slow until you hit 3 or 4

No problems

use it often and plenty of crew on here that launch up to 8m boats there.

Has to be kept in good condition due to the Sea Rescue using it.

Hey guys.I'm heading to Dunno

Fri, 2015-09-04 12:47

Hey guys.

I'm heading to Dunno first week of November and have a 2WD 2.2l diesel Ranger and a 5m fibreglass boat. My cousin who is Busso local says old Dunsborough has too many rocks and to use Quinny as it'll be fine but I've been bogged in my car before without 1500kg on the back and a bit dubious.

How will I a) go driving the boat in and out of old Dunsborough and b) go pulling a boat out at Quinny and as a supplementary query, what is the donation required if you need the guys at Sea Rescue to pull you out with their tractor?

Hey Jackfrost I use the old

Hey Jackfrost I use the old dunsy Ramp whenever I head down and have never had a problem there. I've seen all sizes of boats use it too with no probs. Quinny ramp needs to be clean of sand before I'd use a 2WD there.

Cheers mate, I should add that my cousin has a 6.7m glass boat so that may be part of his apprehension of using the old Dunno ramp
