I think you need to give people a little more than 2 hours before you complain about no replies.

why not spend some time at
why not spend some time at both. go to steep first then off to Quabba after. best of both places and then if steep is firing no need to go on

I'd be hitting up Quobba
I'd be hitting up Quobba this time of year. Steep usually fires Dec-Feb...
Easterly winds are quite predominate this time of year up that way, so the chance of ballooning is more than a possibility.
In saying that with the warm currents will still be coming through Steep so could be worth a shot.
A few of the boys have been spinning Quobba as of late on here, so PM them as suss things out.
Cheers,
Sam

Definitely don't do both
Definitely don't do both, steep is along way off road and obviously you need to be completely self sufficient and by the time your finished there your usually ready to go home. Quobba on the otherhand you can stay in a shack/chalet have a nice shower every night.
In saying all that if you want to chuck lures steep point is a pretty good proposition as you will be able to fish all day somewhere no matter wat the wind direction. For quobba it's probably a bit early for mackies if that's what your after.
So for mine steep point if your going in the next week or 2, look up steeppoint.com to see wats been happening

Won't be able to go steep
Won't be able to go steep point you need to organize with the ranger about permits and mostly it's all booked out 6 months in advance..
always looking for a new challenge!!

Might not be the case
People cancel a fair bit and if there isn't too many in your group at this time of year you'd be a chance

Looks like a bit of a new
Looks like a bit of a new swell hitting that coast late Friday according to Seabreeze, might pay to take it easy around the lower ledges for the first couple of days.
Looking forward to the trip report...
