reversing the handle on outboard control box

Has anyone had any experience reversing the handing of the control lever. Mine is an OMC model and as the boats getting a CC conversion I'm hoping to be able to reuse my control box but change the handing.

Most handles by most brands
Most handles by most brands are reversible, just take it apart and have a look ;)

I've operated on the control
I've operated on the control box but there seems to be a bit more to it than would be though... anyone done this before?
