Rod/Reel advice for DHI trip

Hi all
Taking the family to DHI for a camping/fishing trip in May. Was looking for some advice on what type of rod & reel combo's to be taking up. Fairly well equipped with lighter gear but will need to be buying all new medium to heavy gear.
Have young kids so the bulk of the time we'll be fishing the east side, but I wouldnt mind having a go off the western side myself on a few occasions.
Any and all advice would be very much appreciated.

western side....occy and squid.........15/25kg rod.....solid reel of yr choice.........40olb mono or braid of similar lb
fish lighter and u will get drilled when the baldies come to play...look, u can fish lighter = more sportsmanship but u wont land as many fish......if and when i go back the only reel ill use is my 6500 salty...my lil emblem pro will be the sapre ...imho its not the place for el cheapo reels if u want to land fish, just mo.....u need to fish locked drag in many spots that are low to the water
3 pronged cliff gaff with plenty of rope for the high spots
u can use baitcaster rig with single 5/0 or 6/0 and ball sinker..........u snag up less with circle hooks
placcys/lures also do well

What dates you there mate? I will be there from the 24th for 8 nights at the block. You're welcome to come have a fish with us if you're there then. Sorry cant give you any gear advice as its my first time too so sorting out what gear I need myself.

499 was looking at Penn 760 Slammer, heard good things about them, especially for the price but do you think I'm selling mysel short? Don't mind spending a bit on a good reel, but saltigas and stellas probably can't be justified if the wife googled a price!
How much tackle can we expect to lose??
