Rottnest Convoy 14 Jan 12

Just got back from Rotto with the boys from Whitfords and Fremantle Sea Rescue.
Absolutely a great day, can recommend it to anyone who has not done it before and is new to the area. The sea rescue boys were very informative and also gave us a flare demonstration at the Army Jetty. We even had one unsuspecting boatie come up and wanted to give the Sea Rescue boat a hand because he set off one of the flares as part of the demonstration.
The boat proved to be excellent and handled the wakes of the convoy boats with ease. Very pleased with its performance.
The weather as you all know was absolutely fantastic and the waters around Rotto were totally pristine.
All in all, a fantastic day.

What is the smallest size
Whst is the smallest size for boats to go on convoys, think mine is either 15.5 or 16ft. Guardian cabin cruiser.

glad to see you had a great day. The weather certainly was great and Rotto was very busy.
Considering how many boats were out on Saturday we did not have 1 rescue all day.

Yes that was us
We did go through Porpoise Bay and also a few on the northside including Rocky Bay. Ol Yella, the smallest is 5.5m with the sea rescue convoy however, the BIA one does allow down to 5.2m I think.
