Saltist or Saragosa

Looking to get a bigger reel for spining at Quobba with greater line capacity than my current Shinamo Stradic 8000. Nearly got spooled a couple of time on our last trip
Looking at either:
Shinamo Saragosa 18000f - 4.9:1 ratio 104cm per crank, 20kg drag $319
or
Diawa Saltist 6500H - 6.1:1 ratio 135cm per crank, 15kg drag. $299
Looking for any feedback from those who have these reels including what lb braid and how much they will hold.
If any other recommnedations budget up to $350

reel for spinning
im not going to advise you on what brand and type but i will say most 6:1 geared reels are hard to crank all day with deep divers or divers of any depth for that matter, i had a saltist 4500 and that was a bastard to crank for even a short period. cheers

From my experience i hate hi
From my experience i hate hi geared reels, if i had to used one though i would make sure that the rod is at least 10-20lb heavier in action to counter the hi gear to control the fish more.

metals
I suppose it depends what lures but if your using metals high speed is obviously better.
I have a saltist 6500 and use 50lb braid at least 400m of line on it and have caught mackies etc on it. Its a heavy reel but up to the job for sure. I cant say I have ever had tiredness particularly from high speed spin reels but that type of fishing is taxing in general and I reckon with pelagics faster is better and I personally have moved away from slower speed reels be it spinning lures for tailor or big pelagics.

Metal Lures
Sorry should have mention lures types - mostly spaniads and white leadhead jigs.

go the saltist for those
go the saltist for those lures, high speed is very good of the cliffs, i have seen people with gosas and spheros's of there and tuna chase their lures with no hits, then a guy with a saltist 4500 chucked out a 55 gram twisty, second cast he was on. tuna love the speed but i do have to admit hate the amount of power needed for heavy divers on it. id still go the saltist though :)

Dont have a Saragosa but do
Dont have a Saragosa but do have a a Spheros 14000. With 50lb braid that i have used a couple of times for heavy duty spinning off the cliffs. Hate it. Way too heavy and i am too much of a wuss to throw lures with it all day. So i reverted back to my trusty old Daiwa Emblem X and the newer version Emblem Pro. I like these reels as they are fast retieve great for high speed spinning and popping. Comes with two spools. Dont know how much drag but i have seen a 20kg plus GT caught of the shore at Exmouth on one amd have worked some dirty big stingrays on mine while chasing sharks off the shore. Plus they have the long cast spools which i have found definitly aids me in long distance casting matched to my 13ft Loomis and Franklin Shockwave. Just another option i guess. Havent played with a Saltist other than in a shop of which it felt heavy but each to their own preference.

saltist 6500 hands down -
saltist 6500 hands down - especially if its metals your spinning. the faster the better... good luck trying to retrieve in a 85 or 100g raider with a saragosa full pace, it just wont cut it.
