shark shields might work , but the most effective thing I have seen that works on sharks particularly nosey 14 ft tiger sharks is a home made smokie , forget those 12 gauge ones you can buy they are to heavy and a pain to fit just make your own up that slip up your wetty sleeve

I agree Pete, smokie would be your last chance, I will be applying to have one added to the firearms lic.
My mate that had the encounter last week had the smokie head in his BC pocket, found it very hard to get it out when under "Stress ".
How would we stand with Fisheries if we smoked a GW that we felt was a risk to our safety?

Smokies?
I didnt really grow up needing these, though snorkelled and speared for ages... A friend of mine had an incident in highschool around 18 years ago fooling around with homemade explosives, suffering major burns to the legs after putting a powder into a non properly dried container then putting it in his pocket to set off in a local park before riding his bike to the place. One of the chemicals reacted to the water and with the agitiation from riding it went off in his pocket.
Being unfamiliar with such devices are there concerns about the pressure or agitation at depth creating a dangerous situation/self shooting/accidental discharge with a smokie head in a bcd pocket?

It's just a bullet in a sleeve. You still need to strike the primer. though I've heard stories with the machined type 12gauge smokies going off from being dropped.
