Caught and released north end of Garden Island, think it might be some type of carpet shark?

Never heard of them or seen one and have fished the north end of GI quite a bit, weird looking and look how far back the dorsal fin is.

Blackspotted Catshark
Spot on mjohns. They are quite common but nocturnal - looks like you might have taken the photo at night? Special little WA shark - only found between The Recherche and Abrolhos

interesting you say that they are nocturnal, caught one in the same area in the middle of the day a couple of months ago
