Shimano Symetre - Medium Reel Advice

Hi I am looking for a medium sized reel around 4000-5000 in size planning on filling it with 15LB/20LB Braid.

Looking at the Shimano Symetre anyone used these reels before?? Also interested in hearing about other reels I am looking at spend of 100$ - 150$.

I got a 2500 for my egi rod

I got a 2500 for my egi rod and it's a nice smooth reel. Ray Anne's have the Stradic Ci4 up to 4000 currently going for $199 if you can stretch the budget out otherwise if you really hunt around you might be able to find a Stradic FJ for around $150

 I've got a Sedona 5000 CFE

I've got a Sedona 5000 CFE and it's done well spinning for tailor and the likes for me.

Would like it to be slightly higher speed but for the price can't complain.

If you have a look around you can find Stradic FJs going for 150 or less in some places which would be a great option

Yep got a small symetre on my strudwick 1-3kg sik stik and it has copped a flogging for many years and is still going strong. I rate it very highly.

Got a mate that uses one on

Got a mate that uses one on his little bream stick. He's made some epic catches on it, salmon, small sambos & tuna up to about 8kg. It's handled it all no problem & still going strong. I've used it from time to time & it's still nice & smooth. I can't fault it.

 Only thing I didn't like

Only thing I didn't like about mine was one side of the handle is a plastic bushing. Upgrade that to a bearing and it'll be even smoother

Seems pretty comprehensive from the reviews from you guys.
I am going to go for the Symetre at this stage $140 into $110 at an online sale.

 Got a 4000 Symetre, landed

Tue, 2016-04-05 19:22

Got a 4000 Symetre, landed heaps of salmon, bonito and even a land based mackerel last year. Hasn't failed me yet and it's getting a birthday soon with some new carbontex drag washers and replacing some bushes with bearings
