FYI: N0! = KNOW
You ``know'' there are a fair few tackle shops? How hard is it to add the two extra letters in and MAKE SENSE. N0! = KNOW
I was going to list a few Singapore dealers, but basically can't be bothered seeing you can't be bothered either.

Its been said time and time
Its been said time and time again that its a forum for adults and not text speak. I see you fail on each of these points. Negative? Certainly on your posts, but then its fairly obvious why.

I KNOW that you can catch
I KNOW that you can catch peacock bass in Singapore but only in certain places and you have to put them back. Also tackle is expensive there. I KNOW because I have a cousin there and hes a keen fisho when he has the time.
sidebar...I'm a school teacher and noticed the spelling on here. It annoys me but what can I do about it? I just keep reading and try to enjoy myself.

Deja vu- let me know how you go
heading up to Singapore in May, I know that the Sevenseas in Bangkok has some pretty good gear but the reels are expensive in $US dollars and the rods which Australia dont seem to stock are reasonably priced in comparison.
Not sure about the fishing mate...

Good evening all, I hope this
Good evening all, I hope this greeting meets everyone's expectations as far as spelling and grammar. I personally don't care about spelling or grammar so much as content. I am off to Singapore later in the year and would love to know if there are any decent fishing charters available? If there is any doubt, I'll waste my money elsewhere. Cheers!

Frog-fishing
I spent a week in Singapore last year, stayed in a district called ?Gaylang. (I am a tight-arse, so chose the 3rd cheapest hotel advertised on the internet.)
One night, on the way home from the bars, we noticed a large warehouse type building, which had the sounds of people enjoying themselves inside. We thought it might be a bowling alley or something, but went to check it out.
Inside was around 8 in-ground swimming pools, with people fishing for various creatures using simple poles - string - hooks. You hire the poles by the hour and get to keep the catch. Most people were fishing for prawns and baby mud-crabs, but i went fishing for large frogs.
I caught 6 or 8 frogs, but ended up giving them away as they didnt look particularly appetizing to me.
This may not have been the type of fishing you were looking for in Singapore, but it was certainly entertaining at the time.

As for charters you can try contacting Sparkling Fishing - Michael Chor tel: 9009 8185, email: , facebook: sparkling14257
Haven't been out with him, but from his business card, reasonable looking boat !
Several catch and release ponds available..... check these out for starters

Do a YouTube search on Singapore fishing... some good stuff can be caught from the local jetties around the island !
Rompin (Malaysia) is a relatively short trip from Singapore..
As mentioned above, Beach Rd and Bussorah Street area is where the bigger boys are located, but also veture out to Changi Village as there are a number of "local" tackle outlets located there (not to mention one of the best places to eat in Singapore !)
Riverland Tackle, Changi Village Pro Tackle, Gary's Tackle a few worth the look.
Changi Village is also a good place to source fishing charters or get on a boat and head over to Pulau Ubin..... can catch Barra over there ;-)
cheers,
Paul
