Smashed by a Cobia

Spotted a Manta on the weekend. A closer look showed a big cobia swimming with it.
Put a lure in front of it and this thing came right up to the boat and this is when i realised just how big this fish was, well over a metre and easily 20kg 
. My 4000 size reel felt awfully small 
! It scoffed the lure and took off. The fight lasted all of about 15 seconds as it went under the boat and i presume snapped my main line on the manta.
Massive buzz! i gotta get me some more of that action!

my old man landed a 44
