hey every one me and a mate are going to take his boat out in the stormy weather chaising snapper but not going far off shore leaving from safety bay boat ramp and just siting sumwere berly the f out of it and should get some snapper or sharks. is this a good idea the boat isnt big its a little dingy but im shore if we go close to shore we should be ok but not to close about 100m from shore maby a little less.
oh and another question i work at bcf and we dont have any yellow tail does anyone know were to get some chers

It's interesting no one has mentioned what the conditions are like in Safety bay / Wanbro sound when the weather is crap....
Ive been out there in my 26ft console in rough conditions, and thats wind only, and its as lumpy and wet as hell... doing it in a tinny...find it pretty hard to believe, Every wave would have come over, your tinny would have been full of water, so someone would have had to of been bailing the whole time....
Even at 20 knots unless easterlies would the bay be calm enough for a small tiiny, except maybe next to the pengo island jetty.

I made it to Rotto!
Just letting you guys know that I made it to Rotto safe and sound. We left at 8am and surprisingly the seas weren't that big. Swell was only about 4 meters. Some waves broke over me but I rode those puppies in my 10 footer like there was no tomorrow. I'll be staying here on the island for a few days then when the weather gets really bad, I'll be heading back. PS - I didn't even need my really good life jacket! LOL!
